The Ministry of Higher Education of the Somali Federal Government Mr. Farag Abdulkadir conducted a monitoring visit to public schools in the Banadir Region, Mogadishu. The schools visited included Hanti-Wadaag Primary School in Wartanabadda District, 21st November School, Howlwadaag Secondary School, the School for Deaf and Blind Students in Howlwadaag District, and Mustaqbal Autism School in Hodan District.
SDN appreciates the role of the Ministry of Education in evaluating and strengthening the public education system in Mogadishu. Special attention was given to schools that serve students with disabilities, including deaf, blind, and autistic learners. During the visit, the Minister emphasized the importance of inclusive education and acknowledged the efforts being made to support students with special needs.
This monitoring visit is part of the Ministry’s preparations for the upcoming national examinations, scheduled to take place in approximately four months. The Minister also noted that two of the special needs schools are receiving direct support and contributions from the government, reflecting a continued commitment to improving access and quality of education for all students in Banadir Region.
The Minister Edcuation SFG Mr. Farag Abdulkadir  supervised Al-Basir School for the Blind in Howl-wadaag District, where he inspected classrooms, the library, dormitory, and canteen for visually impaired students. During the visit, the Minister acknowledged the scale of work being carried out at the school as well as the existing needs that require further support. Al-Basir School is supported by the Banadir Region Education Directorate, which covers part of the school’s operational expenses.
