Third Graduation Ceremony SANCA Center Skills Training

The SANCA Center for Skills Training successfully conducted its third graduation ceremony on Thursday, 29 January 2026, in Mogadishu.

The event brought together more than 200 participants, including government officials, civil society organizations, organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs), and representatives from the Banadir Regional Local Authority.

The graduation marked the completion of vocational training for 100 students who specialized in five key skills: sewing machine operation, dress design and art, decoration, henna and beauty salon makeup, and clothes dyeing.

These skills aim to enhance self-reliance and employment opportunities for youth and persons with disabilities.

During the event, SANCA Center delivered a detailed presentation highlighting its program activities, achievements, and impact over the past years. Participants expressed strong appreciation for the organization’s commitment to inclusive skills development.

Graduating students actively participated by delivering speeches and performing practical demonstrations, clearly showing the knowledge and hands-on skills they gained during the training period.

Key speakers, including Mr. Abdi Hussein, Director of SANCA Center; Mr. Ahmed Dige from UDHAN; Mr. Adan Hassan from the Somali Disability Network; Mrs. Kaho from Yaqshid District; and Mr. Yusuf Jimale, Former Governor and Mayor of Banadir Region, commended SANCA Center’s role in empowering communities and promoting inclusive development.

The ceremony concluded successfully, reinforcing the importance of vocational skills training as a pathway to economic empowerment and social inclusion in Mogadishu.
