On 15 February 2026, a book presentation event was held at the Howlwadag District Local Authority Hall in Mogadishu, Banadir Region.
The event was organized by members of the Howlwadag District Office of Social Services in collaboration with members of the local council. The activity aimed to promote inclusive education, literacy, and empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
The event was attended by representatives from various district offices and community organizations. Participants included members from the District Office of Social Services, the Deputy District Commissioner for Social Affairs, the Deputy District Commissioner for Youth, members of the local council, and representatives from the District Youth Office.
In addition, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Somalia Schools Union, Somalia Writers and Readers Unions Association – Banadir, PWDs organizations, IEDP (Institute for Education of Disabled People), Sassistive Technology Institute, and Diyaar Institute for Trainings actively participated in the event.
During the opening session, key speakers highlighted the importance of education, inclusion, and equal participation of Persons with Disabilities in community development.
They commended the author for contributing to knowledge sharing and encouraging reading culture within the community. The speakers emphasized the need for continuous support to authors and individuals from marginalized groups to ensure their voices are heard and recognized.
The author presented the book to the participants, explaining its objectives, key themes, and the message it conveys. The presentation created an interactive discussion where participants shared their views and reflections.
The audience showed great interest in the book, and several participants purchased copies to support the author and promote inclusive learning.
The event concluded successfully with appreciation remarks from district officials and stakeholders. The activity strengthened collaboration between local authorities, civil society organizations, and educational institutions in promoting inclusive education and social empowerment in Howlwadag District.
