On  04 may 2025  Experience Sharing and Learning Platform among CSOs”, designed for sharing best practices, challenges, and innovative approaches. The workshop was implemented by Save the Children and funded by NORAD, creating a space for Civil Society Organizations to exchange knowledge and lessons learned from their respective programs.

The workshop provided a highly supportive environment and promoted innovative solutions for children, youth, women, and persons with disabilities. Participants included a diverse range of actors working in development and humanitarian sectors, enabling meaningful collaboration and cross-learning. SDN’s presentation highlighted strategies for disability inclusion and shared experiences that could strengthen the effectiveness of programs for marginalized communities.

Through participation in the workshop, SDN gained valuable skills, insights, and innovative strategies that will enhance the implementation of its programs. The engagement helped build the capacity of Save the Children partners and reinforced SDN’s commitment to advancing inclusive practices in Somalia, ensuring that children and persons with disabilities benefit from improved program design and delivery.

As part of the Experience Sharing and Learning Platform among CSOs for Sharing Best Practices, Challenges, and Innovative Approaches, Dr. Abdislam Ahmed from the Somalia Disability Youth Association (SODYA) delivered a presentation highlighting innovations led by youth with disabilities. His presentation focused on how young PWD entrepreneurs are developing projects that provide practical solutions and services to support their communities.

Dr. Ahmed showcased local innovations such as locally made wheelchairs and community protection service initiatives, emphasizing the creativity and resilience of young persons with disabilities. He also highlighted the need for funding and support to scale these innovations, enabling PWD youth to expand their impact and contribute meaningfully to social and economic development
