UDHAN Organization for the Visual Impaired Youth organized social and education inclusion debate

On Monday 04-01-2021 social integration and the role of the blind people education is held in Mogadishu the debate was organized by the member of the Somali visual impaired youth organization which non-profit DPOs disabled people organization in Mogadishu.

The members of the organization made the mobilization of the event which is very important to raise advocacy and awareness for the blind people social inclusion and integrations. The debate was participated the civil society, members from the universities, members from the DPOs and the members from the Banadir region Organization.

The debate was very though and informative to the participants and the public to the Somalia people with more details of the blind people role in the  education in a country where there are barriers and problems preventing access to education for the non-disabled people. The blind people who participated the event presented argument supporting their  hard wok and talents  for learning education in very challenging environment and cultures

Somalia is one of the country where PWDs persons with disabilities in general suffer massive discrimination in the social for the public and private.  A society with some bad practise neglecting the humanity, identity and talents of the disabled people in general and particularly the blind people .

The members of the UNDHAN organization  initiated mass community outreach program with volunteer contribution from their organizations to highlight the role in the education will help greater social inclusion which will make awareness for the members of the blind people the children, the adult and members of their families realise the talents for their children and people in the e education and employment

Member of the Banadir region youth organization noted he got new image from the debate with Mr. Dalmar blind man teacher today with more their colleagues. I am very happy to see such progress made the blind people. As Banadir region organization we shall work and have cooperation with UDHAN organization members and invite meeting with top leaders of the Banadir region youth organization

Members from the  teachers of the blind people told that members of the UNDHAN organization were the best students served in the work and very happy to see today they are making blind people education role in the social inclusion argument and debate for future children and adult awareness for education after the members of the team finished some of their education

Finally UDHAN organization made distribution of braille publication curriculum they have made with their works and  organizational resource for the support of the blind student in the public and private school in the country and blind people schools. The student acknowledge their appreciation to paricate such this highly prepared debate and books distributed for the education that wil help the enjoy reading the lessons more easily with braille publication

Mr. Sahan saho member of the founder of the organization with high sprit in the conference room told the practical and the Somali society to listen the result of the debate they have organized today with their vision and resource that came true now. We have more than such this talents we have achieved this work. He told the media key points raised in the debate and argument

  1. The talents of the blind learning education in Somalia a country without  assistive technologies devises or  facilities and public or private infrastructure supporting the blind for the day to day learning duty
  2. Lack of national blind people education curriculum and teachers supporting the  thousands blind people and their children who some of the may want learn schools convenient to them. And lack of scholarship for the blind in the country from the public and private universities which most of them are discriminative
  3. Lack of after schools and university intervention support for the graduate blind people very much interested and prepared for action and work in the public and private institutions. That unfortunately closed the door from the blind people for their blindness only. and lack of special need education act, law and strategic plan in the country
  4. Lack employment opportunities from the private organizations whose companies hired mostly the non-blind people. And the government who did not participate national service recruitment process in the country where there are number of blind people actively working
  5. Members from the blind people send message to the top leaders of the country the prime minster, speakers of the parliaments and the president of Somalia Mr. Mohamed Abdulahi Farmajo who told the world his government serviced the blind pepple education in the last two years  information  of the the united nation assembly presidential meeting.
