On Saturday, 8 March 2025, in Mogadishu, an organized event for the IWD International Women’s day is held. the event is part of many celebration event held in Somalia and in the world today by hundreds people and agencies for non-government and government institutions in Somalia and worldwide.
In Mogadishu, the women and young girls with diverse impairments organized an event in the SDN office, participated in by more than 20 persons, most of were female from the PWDs persons with disabilities) of young age and adulthood. As well as non-disabled females who are social work students and professionals.
The event theme of this year was unique that is different than many years in the past, with the theme “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality” that they have equal rights in society. This shows that women and girls are still struggling for equality for all in the world. This also gives an opportunity the women and girls with diverse impairments in Somalia
