On 16-17 December, Somali Disability Network SDN organized a two-day CRPD Training, shadow Report, and process of writing for persons with disabilities and OPDS (organizations of persons with disabilities).
The objective of the Training
1. To train the ODPs on the UNCRPD sreport, the state, and the shadow report.
2. The ODPs advocate for the government to submit a state report to the CRPD, which Somalia ratified
in 2019.
3. To establish a coalition that advocates CRPD state report drafting work The achievement was that
the participant has learn the CRPD article and specifically the reporting articles that elaborates the implementation
cycle Article 33 – National implementation and monitoring, Article 34 – Committee on the Rights of Persons with
Disabilities, Article 35 – Reports by States Parties, Article 36 – Consideration of reports, Article 37 – Cooperation between
States Parties and the Committee.
